Joe moved out today. We've been together nearly 23 years, and it's going to be strange not to have him under the same roof.  

He won't be far - just a couple of miles away. And I think we'll still be a pretty big part of each others' lives, at least for a while.  

There's an ache in the pit of my stomach as he drives away with the last load of his things. Even though I know this is the best thing for our family.
